In May I’ll be running four separate instructional and practical filmmaking classes over the course of a week. This is something I’ve been meaning to do for a while in response to the many requests I receive about how to make an adventure film. I’m delighted that so many people are keen to not only get out there on an adventure, but also to get out there and film it too! There’s a limit to how useful I can be over email though, so the idea behind this week of workshops is that I can try and share what I’ve learned from my experience of making adventure TV and independent films. I’ve also roped in some friends to help me (and you) out by sharing what they know. Here’s what’s on offer: Fri 20th May – Overnight filmmaking campout w/ Leon McCarron and Dave Cornthwaite Sat 21st May – Overnight filmmaking campout w/ Leon McCarron and Dave Cornthwaite Tues 24th May – Evening filmmaking seminar w/ Leon McCarron and Alastair Humphreys Thurs 26th May – Evening filmmaking seminar w/Leon McCarron and Alastair Humphreys To book a place on any of the courses, please hit the button below or email info@leonmccarron.com with any questions. --- DETAILS: Friday 20th May - Overnight filmmaking campout w/ Leon McCarron and Dave Cornthwaite This is a very practical course which will take place outside of London. We will meet at a London station on Friday evening (around 5pm) and catch a train to the country! From there we’ll head to a location in the woods where we’ll spend the evening and the next morning learning and practising the art of filmmaking in the outdoors. Dave and I will talk you through the basics of trying to document your adventure; technique, equipment, editing, storytelling and how to market your own films. Then we’ll set some tasks around the area to practice. We’ll also cook dinner together over a fire and all sleep out under the stars. The next day, we’ll catch a lunchtime train back to London. COST - £90 (plus train fare from London, which should be no more than £25) REQUIREMENTS – Sleeping kit (bag, bivvy – we can provide tarps etc if weather looks poor.) Clothes suitable for the outdoors! Camera if you have one – if not, we’ll have some to share.
