Leon McCarron is a 24 year old cameraman and documentary filmmaker from Articlave, Northern Ireland. He studied film at the University of Kent and graduated in 2008 with a Bachelor of Arts First Class Honours Degree. His stripes were earned in London and the South East of England, before moving to New York for further testing of mettle.
Leon aims to create exciting, informative and visually arresting video content for a diverse audience. He has shot documentary on 5 continents and has experience in deserts, jungle, oceans and sub-zero temperatures, plus ability to shoot from light aircraft, helicopter, jet boat, kayak, motorbike and bicycle.
In March 2011, Leon returned to London after a 14,000 mile solo and unsupported cycle from New York to Hong Kong. He is currently in the process of reviewing the footage from that trip, writing a book about the experience and giving lectures on the ride and topics relevant to it.
Sometimes though, he also like to sit down in a nice comfy chair - he is not totally mad.
